The VIP Solution

Employee Consulting - interests

“Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

Identify general categories and specific examples of activities in which you are highly interested.

INTERESTS back>>
Keeping consistent with using the most scientifically-validated and purpose-driven assessments, the VIP Solution incorporates one of the world's most widely used and respected career interest inventories - the Strong Interest Inventory (Strong). This inventory helps people identify careers to which they are most inherently drawn. For nearly 80 years, the Strong Interest Inventory has provided time-tested, research-validated insights to help individuals in their search for a rich and fulfilling career. The Strong is modeled on Dr. John Holland's theory which states that most people can be loosely categorized with respect to six types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional. Occupations and work environments can also be classified by the same categories. People who choose careers that match their own types are most likely to be both satisfied and successful. The Strong report can help you to understand more about yourself and how your individual skills and interests are related to your career choice.

The Strong Interest Inventory offers many unique features:
Helps to predict both occupational satisfaction and success

•Used for career direction and career validation for both individual and organization
•Relates your interest patterns to those of satisfied workers within an occupation
•Identifies job/occupation skills confidence
•Identifies preferred working environments and learning styles
•Identifies college majors and general areas for further study
•New and revised Occupational Scales to reflect business and technology trends, including Computer & IS Manager, Network Administrator, Financial Manager, and ESL Instructor
•No invasive or intrusive items
•No adverse impact
•Fully Internet Enabled

Our clients receive a complete Strong Interest Inventory with College Profile and Skills Confidence Inventory Report. The report provides your 3-letter Holland code type and provides the following information:
•Identifies code types and careers that best match an individual's interests and abilities
•List of occupations (careers) with codes identical and/or similar to your own
•List of college majors (fields of study) with codes identical and/or similar to your own
•List of preferred work environments with codes identical and/or similar to your own
•Information regarding the extent of training needed to attain desired career path
•Information that compares confidence ratings with interest in preferred occupations
•Recommendations about how to proceed through your career development and decision-making process including research of job/occupational specifics

* Remember, no one assessment can tell you what career or organizational direction to pursue. Only you can make that decision. You should consider your Strong results in combination with other sources of career information, including detailed descriptions of occupations, additional assessments, and use of career specialists.
